The beauty of the landscape in the Golden Valley in Herefordshire is spectacular, with its rolling hills that undulate like waves of rich fertile soil sloping upward and then down again in gentle contours of lush flowing green.  Some of the best livestock in England live here on this surging land beneath the Black Mountains; the Hereford cattle, producing the best beef known to man, and as a child C. S. Lewis who wrote the Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe mistook a painting of the valley to be that of heaven.
